Eastern Sicily SEZ presentation at OECD webinar “Enhancing the Attractiveness of non-metropolitan areas: the role of Special Economic Zones”

As part of the actions aimed at the internationalisation of the Eastern Sicily SEZ, the Government Commissioner, represented by the Public Affairs Expert of the Commissioner’s Staff, attended as speaker the webinar “Enhancing the attractiveness of non-metropolitan areas: The role of Special Economic Zones”, organised by the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (Paris), with the collaboration of the OECD Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, the OECD Development Centre and in cooperation with the European Commission and the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE).

The webinar, held on Wednesday 15 March, was an excellent opportunity to present the main features of the Eastern Sicily SEZ to a qualified audience of international counterparts and to compare the models of Special Economic Zones in Italy, Poland, Canada, France, Chile and Costa Rica.

The Eastern Sicily SEZ is interested in strengthening dialogue and cooperation with the OECD, in consideration of this organisation’s commitment in monitoring the attractiveness of 25 world macro-regions (located in Europe, Morocco and Latin America) that avail themselves of the Special Economic Zones tool.
